The song comes from The SapphicSoul EP, which is nearly 15 years old. Seeing it finally get some of the shine it deserves, on a syndicated radio station in the DMV, the area where I was raised, is a blessing that’s hard to put into words.

I’ve been singing professionally for 25 years. Anyone who’s done this for a long time knows there are stretches when it feels like you’re standing still and nothing you do is moving your career forward. This year has been life-changing in so many ways, and I needed a win to propel me forward. This moment gave me hope, and I’m holding onto it.
